Fear in the Night
Well done movie script. Acting at its best. I agree one thing missing is the direction. Nothing wrong with the actors' performance but scenes could have been better. I understand the dreamlike performance but still something was missing. A great movie to be brought up in a film class. The real FIVE STAR performance was the SOUNDTRACK. The big disappointment of the late thirties through the fifties movies of the Golden Age of Hollywood are the UNSUNG HEROES, being genius talented musicians of the soundtracks. So important to the enhancement of the stars that people heard ONLY in their subconscious minds. Think about it. A genius composing a soundtrack for a movie and very talented forty musicians playing what the composer wrote. Here is a scenario: 1940's--People seeing the credits start. They are shoving popcorn down their throats, talking like magpies, not listening to the soundtrack playing or watching the credits until they see "directed by" and know the movie is ready to start. They shut up. Such is life! I give four stars to the movie because in a way it was way beyond its time. I'm think years later or Rod Sterling's "Night Gallery." This movie reminds me of what was done many years later.

Bad screenplay...fair acting...Good story
I will be brief. I did enjoy the story but it could have been produced much better. Kelley was disappointing. The film was not scripted very well. There was too much "thinking out loud"

Perfect B movie
Dark, with twists, voiceovers, and murky film from age. It is wonderful to see DeForest Kelly. The plot is totally impossible, but due to the period, it would have been believable. Gotta love the men's devotion to their hats and suits.

Fantastic film!
This old film had an excellent plot and kept you curious throughout the movie. Has a good and suspenseful ending. Oh, and who doesn't like DeForest Kelley? Fantastic acting by him and the rest of the actors and actresses!
